ZPWMA and Carbon Green Africa have set up a REDD+ carbon credits project in the Chirisa Safari Area to work together to protect the area's flora and fauna from the threat it has been under from the surrounding populations in recent years. The joint venture is the first of its kind i n Zimbabwe and will provide an additional income stream for ZPWMA to enable them to more effectively undertake their mandate and also to provide the surrounding communities with opportunities to uplift their standard of living while reducing deforestation and degradation in the safari area.
